2 of the biggest esports organisers ESL and DreamHack have combined to make 1 company. There new name is ESL Gaming. Read more at – https://au.news.yahoo.com/esports-esl-dreamhack-merger-modern-times-group-162421547.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAGHGMt5GZ-szr2_z5zQJriBD3ujCSbundTCd6SJ1pasajwDc5IrKlCEa-zFZJO72udy8v5AnJzQigOW6ofsP80E3_zPrchthm7bPV4jAtbYWRiy9HJYfhaSHJHCG6YNSskPd-NuDeJKbJlOnJQDJUFXMSVNtCoB3o1lvromPFGQA

The two biggest esports event organizers, ESL and DreamHack merge together for a bigger picture. The co-CEO of the ESL, Craig Levine, and Ralf Reichert will now run the new organization, called the ESL Gaming. As the CEO of ESL gets to run the new company, the CEO of DreamHack Marcus Lindmark will get to carry on with his gaming festivals. The events will take place in the whole of North America and the European region. The collaboration of a bigger organization is targeting huge events in the esports industry. Fans are about to experience the best tournaments ever.

Modern Times Group

Modern Times Group acquired a stake proportion of ESL in 2015. In the same year, the organization bought the DreamHack as well. Until now, both of the brands operate individually and do not conflict until now. However, during the last couple of years, both organizations have helped each other in organizing different tournaments. ESL and DreamHack have used each other’s resources in the past few years, according to the ESPN Esports notes. Both organizations hope that the merger will help them grow even more. It will further increase the quality of the tournaments and will shape the future of gaming events as much as possible.

ESL and DreamHack

ESL is one of the independent gaming event organizers that no one else owns. Neither any gaming publisher nor any esports team holds the organization as it acts independently. For such, the organization has produced such amazing tournaments that no other could do. However, the case is totally different in the DreamHack. In a typical DreamHack gaming event, you would see pros competing in Rainbow Six Siege, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, Hearthstone, and many more under the same roof.

Collaboration with Blizzard

2020 opened a lot of new successful ways for gaming organizations. The Coronavirus pandemic gave an enormous boost to the esports industry that multiple big tournaments took place online. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, DreamHack and ESL struck a deal with Blizzard to arrange multiple tournaments for different esports games. The deal had Starcraft II and Warcraft III: Reforged in it. Not just this, the collaboration eventually triggered multiple tournaments for Counter-Strike and Dota 2. This partnership is giving esports a bigger picture and making the best tournaments possible.

What’s next?

The organizations will keep on working individually under one roof now. The ESL Gaming will tag its name with every new tournament coming for any game. DreamHack will go on with its gaming festivals, while the ESL will keep on arranging the bigger tournaments. One way or another, the new partnership is now official and is very advantageous for the fans of the esports industry. Valve is already arranging huge tournaments for Dota 2. The International 10 is coming soon and it has already become the biggest tournament of all time. It is no doubt that ESL Gaming will produce multiple big tournaments like TI in the future.

Team Secret becomes the only team to win eight straight Dota 2 events they participated in. From the beginning of the year, they are dominating all the other teams and securing the finals in a complete fashion. At the OGA Dota Pit Season Three, they didn’t only dominate the group stages, they sealed the tournament in their own style by winning. The win at the OGA Dota Pit makes the team win the eighth straight title of the year’s incomplete dominance. Throughout the series, Team Secret only dropped one game during the group stages against VP.Prodigy. No other team could stand strong against them.

The team took revenge in the final for that one loss and defeated VP.Prodigy in the grand finals 3-0.

Online Dota 2

Team Secret is by far the best team in the world for the online Dota 2 stage. After the COVID-19 pandemic, all the face to face Dota 2 tournaments got shifted to an online battle. They dominantly won all the online majors it participated in. During this time, the team only didn’t participate in the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 and the WeSave! Charity Play for Dota 2. If Secret had participated in these tournaments, it would be of no surprise that it had won these as well.

The Dominance

The dominance of Team Secret started with WePlay! Pushka League Season one. The team ended in an epic final against the rival VP.Prodigy and won the $70,000 grand prize. In the same month, they reached another final against Navi, at the Gamers Without Borders 2020. They took no time to snatch the victory in the final and won the second tournament in a row. Till then, it was not hyped for the team as winning two consecutive tournaments is not a big deal.

The real dominance starts with the third straight final and third straight victory in it. In the same month of May, Team Secret faced Team Liquid at the OGA Dota Pit 2020 Online: Europe/CIS. The final resulted in the same winner once again and they won $62,000 from this event. The next month, the squad participates in the ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Europe/CIS. The story remains the same as Secret faces Alliance this time. As usual, Secret takes out the favorite team and wins $60,000. This becomes the fourth straight tournament by Puppey and boys and analysts already start looking for the records.

In the same month, Secret faces one of the biggest rivals, Team OG at the final of BLAST Bounty Hunt. Fans expected OG to do big and finally finish the win streak of Team Secret. However, Secret never trembled and defeated OG in a manner too. They won $50,067 from the Bounty Hunt tournament.

It’s not Ending

The story of dominance kept going for Team Secret even after winning five straight tournaments. In June, they faced the biggest rival, Team Nigma at the finals of Beyond Epic: Europe/CIS. The results were just the same as they used to before. Puppey and boys closed the series and won another tournament. This victory created the biggest win streak for Team Secret of winning six straight tournaments and adding further $80,000 in the accounts.

At last, Team Secret participated in the Omega League: Europe Immortal Division. Once again, Secret faced Team OG in the grand finals. However, OG could do nothing and Secret won another $200,000. The last tournament that took the win streak of Team Secret to a solid eight is OGA Dota Pit Season Three. They once again defeats VP.Prodigy in the grand finals to win $70,873 and maintain the biggest win streak in the history of Dota 2.

The best part of this win streak is that Team Secret won all these finals with an epic 3-0 victory. None of the team managed to win a single game in any final against them throughout the year.

Alliance’s 100 game record

With absolute dominance, Team Secret breaks the 2013’s 100-game record of Alliance. Team Alliance maintained a record-making streak in 2013 and went over 83-17 throughout the year. This is an absolute class and nobody thought of breaking that record ever. However, Team Secret crossed this number after winning at the OGA Dota Pit. This year, Team Secret scored an epic number of 85-15 with a lead of two games on Alliance’s record. Thus, Secret breaks the 2013 record and creates a new one.

Team Secret also shows an epic clearance at the OGA Dota Pit. The team remained 8-0 during the group stages. Similarly, Secret remained 7-0 during the playoffs. This shows that during the whole event, Secret didn’t lose a single game to any team.

It’s a Teamwork

It is of no surprise that the whole Team Secret is playing Dota 2 on another level right now. As much as we praise Puppey for it, we cannot ignore the efforts of Lasse ‘MATUMBAMAN’ Urpalainen, Michal ‘Nisha’ Jankowski, and most of all Ludwig ‘zai’ Wahlberg. The whole team’s performance is out of this world right now.

Even if Secret lost a game during the group stages of a tournament or during the playoffs. The team didn’t lose a single game during the finals. Most of the time, these finals were not even close.

For example, VP.Prodigy became the only team during the Dota PIT Season Three to win one game against Secret. However, in the finals, they barely touched Secret. VP held the lead in the first 11 minutes of game one, but Secret didn’t give any other chance to the rival. Team Secret turned the game around and VP called out GG. In the other two games, VP didn’t get a single chance to get closer to Secret. Team Secret just played its epic style of Dota to make history.

Beyond Epic 2020

The same thing happened against Team Nigma. It looked like Nigma was going to break the win streak of Secret by winning at least one game in a grand final. At the Beyond Epic: Europe/ CIS, Team Nigma tried its best to win at least one game against Secret. However, Secret kept its dominant run and won 3-0 once again.

It was the only tournament where Team Secret lost in the playoffs and dropped to the lower brackets. Team Liquid unexpectedly snatched a 2-0 victory during the first upper bracket round. Team Secret then had to go all the way through the lower brackets and reach the final. During its lower bracket run, Secret faced Vikin.gg, FlytoMoon, and Team Liquid once again. Team Secret took the best revenge by beating Liquid in a 2-0 epic win and moved to the grand finals where Team Nigma waited. Nigma didn’t lose easily and Secret had to give it all to maintain the win streak. Secret won the first game in 48 minutes but it was the second game that took it all. During the early phases of the game, Nigma held the total control of the map. As Miracle made a mistake by diving with his Ursa, Secret looked for a chance to come back in the game. The game finished in 75 minutes where Nigma had to finally call out GG. During the last game, Secret didn’t give any chance and finished the game in just 35 minutes.

ESL One Germany 2020

The ESL One Germany 2020 is going to be the next test for Team Secret. All the biggest names around the Europe and CIS region are participating in the series. Each team has a mindset of breaking Secret’s win streak. The team will play some of the best teams in the world. With how Team Secret is playing these days, it doesn’t look like any team is going to break its win streak soon.

There are going to be five rounds in the ESL One Germany. Team Secret will once again face all the strongest rivals in the region. Each and every team has its eyes on the title. ESL One Germany has directly invited some of the greatest teams like Team Nigma, Team OG, Liquid, Alliance, Navi, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and many more. Each and every team has the potential to give a hard time to Secret in its run, but it looks like Secret is currently on another planet.

Fans are about to witness history as Secret is definitely not going to lose its streak very easily. The tournament starts from October 5th and we will witness a winner on the 1st of November. The predictions are made by the analysts but the way Secret is playing, there is no need for predictions at all. If you are a Secret fan, now is the time for you to celebrate as they keep on making history with each game it plays.

For the first time in history, the prize pool for the Dota 2 biggest tournament, The International 10, crosses the $39 Million mark. Valve delayed the tournament due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The professional analysts of the game set a target of $40 Million this year, let’s hope that the community takes the prize pool there as well. Dota has always remained at the top of the list with the games rewarding the biggest with their tournaments. With the current pace of the prize pool, it definitely looks that this year, Dota will make history and reach the highest prize pool ever for any esports tournament.

October Shenanigans for Dota 2

Valve made sure about the prize pool of the TI to be mainly coming from the crowdfunds. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, more public diverted towards the esports. Due to extensive time with the games, people eventually spend more on them. As all the odds are in favor of Valve right now, the organization has extended the deadline for the International 10 Battle Pass. The new deadline is for the first week of October.

This month is full of surprises for Dota 2. The Arcana vote winner will be announced in the first week of October as well. Fans will finally witness a winner between Faceless Void and Spectre.

10 Days Remaining

The International 10 prize pool is just 10 days away to make history. The official Battle Pass 10 expires after this and the prize pool closes. Fans have already taken the prize pool to $39 Million and can easily cross the $40 Million mark. If Dota 2 hit the 40 Million, it will become the biggest prize pool in the history of any esports tournament. Valve has an optimistic approach to this year’s prize pool and says that fans can make history this time. Let’s see where this year’s prize pool takes us.

Already a record

The $40 Million mark is just a goal set by Dota 2 professional analysts. If we look into the current prize, Dota 2 already has broken all the records for any esports tournament to offer such a big reward. The International 10 prize pool becomes the biggest prize in history. With still 10 days remaining, the tournament is definitely going to break the analysts’ goals as well.

The International 10 Venue

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Valve is still unable to decide the final location of the biggest tournament of Dota 2. The organization has not yet released any detail about the tournament. However, the Battle Pass and multiple Treasures show that the tournament will occur this year for sure. The venue and dates are still unknown to everyone.

Fans are anxiously waiting for their favorite tournament. Valve will soon disclose the official dates for the TI. Till then, let’s wait if the tournament will reach the goal prize pool or not.

The Esports Integrity Commission has banned 37 different professional CS:GO coaches from the game. The organization bans the coaches to participate in any kind of competition due to cheating. The Integrity Commission caught a spectator bug that these coaches used to help the teams.

The Bug

Earlier this year, the community found a spectator bug that allows you to look at some of the hidden parts of the map. The spectator can look at the players that are in the fog of war or behind the wall. Multiple coaches used this spectator bug to find the enemies during a match. After locating the enemies, the coaches fed this information to their teams, which involves them in cheating.

The Investigation

At first, the bug felt very little and nobody bothered to look into it. Only a few cases came forward with cheating in this regard. However, later on, the bug spread wide into the community and it became a major issue. The community found that some of the professional coaches used the bug for years to help the teams. As a result, the Esports Integrity Commission jumped in and ordered a complete investigation of the bug. Right now, the first result from the investigation is out and ESIC takes action on it.

The investigation only reaches its 20% potential and the organization already catches 37 professional coaches to abuse this bug. Many of the coaches used this bug multiple times in different games. Most of the coaches are from the tier-2 teams but there are few coaches from top-level teams as well. The investigation team caught the coaches of Team Navi, Faze Clan, and MIBR.

Punishments

The ESIC has released some punishments to the coaches depending on their use of the bug. All 37 coaches are instantly removed from the game and forbidden to enter a competition. The punishment depends on the intensity of the bug-use by any coach. The longest ban goes to Aleksandr ‘MechanoGun’ Bogatyrev for 36 months. He is the former coach of Hard Legion. Similarly, the shortest ban goes out for only 3.75 months to the coaches who rarely used the bug.

The coaches and the teams

During the punishments, the CS:GO coaches are not allowed to communicate with their teams 15 minutes prior to the match. They are also not allowed to stand near their teams 15 minutes before a match. This absence goes until the end of the match. The coaches can neither be in the game servers during a professional match nor can be in the Discord communication channel. In short, the ESIC has totally taken over the professional matches of CS: GO. The coaches received punishments as they deserved.

Some of the teams removed the coaches as the investigation found them guilty. However, some teams are still in contact. The investigation has not reached its half limit and yet we have seen so much, let’s see what comes in the upcoming days.

After the enormous success of Call of Duty Mobile, Activision is now planning to release Call of Duty: Warzone on mobile as well. The news does not confirm yet as fans took an idea of this release from the job posting by Activision. A report by Charlie Intel includes all the details about the job posting. Activision added a post saying that the company is looking for an Executive Producer for ‘WZM’. Apparently, WZM looks like a code for Warzone Mobile. The report also says that the job listing represents a new mobile FPS for the Call of Duty Franchise.

The Job Listing

The job for the Executive Producer also had a description given with it. According to the report, the job description says that the Executive Producer will own the product farming. XDA Report

A report in XDA Developers says that Call of Duty: Warzone has become one of the most successful and popular games in Activision’s lineup. Since its release in March, the game has covered around 75 Million players around the globe. This is the biggest number for any game Activision holds.

Call of Duty next steps

Call of Duty: Mobile already includes a Battle Royale mode. This mode offers different locations to players like Black Ops and Modern Warfare. The mobile version of Call of Duty: Warzone will allow players to carry the progress they have made in the current version of the mobile game. In any case, the mobile version of Warzone is a win-win situation for Activision.

Moreover, Activision is also planning to release the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This new release will expand the Warzone version of the game. The new game will also bring new characters, weapons, and possibly new locations.

Activision is currently focusing on multiple projects. The new mobile version of Warzone and the release of the new Black Ops Cold War. Fans are anxiously waiting for both of the games to come live as soon as possible. However, the organization has not disclosed any official date for any of these games.

One of the most famous Turkish AWPers, Woxic has promised to join Cloud9 after his mousesports tenure ends. Cloud9 officially announced the joining of the star. The signing of  Özgür ‘Woxic’ Eker is already done with Cloud9. Woxic became the third player to join the new North American squad. The organization is putting together the best players in the region. The team already has an in-game leader Alex ‘ALEX’ McMeekin and a young emerging talent William ‘mezii’ Merriman.

Three-year contract

Just like the rest of the team, Woxic has signed a three-year contract with Cloud9. The General Manager of the organization Henry HenryG’ Greer, says that Woxic sealed the deal for $1.36 Million with Cloud9. Woxic also talks about this deal in his interview. He says that the General Manager of the organization is doing things in the right way. He also says that he had a lot of other offers but Cloud9’s attracted him the most. “My main goal is to win multiple tournaments. When I see what Cloud9 is offering to the players, I feel good because the players will remain happy. Winning tournaments require players to be happy. You cannot win a tournament if the players are not comfortable even if you make a star team. In Cloud9, we will have success in 5 to 6 months”.

Woxic

Woxic spent 2019 with mousesports following his transfer from HellRaisers in March, that year. During his stay with mousesports, he pushed the team in winning multiple LAN tournaments. The biggest achievements of Woxic with mousesports are CS: GO Asia Championship and ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals. He also won the MVP title for this tournament. He also got his name in the 12 best players in the world in 2019 – becoming the first Turkish ever to enter these rankings.

Moreover, mousesports went down in the early months of 2020. After winning the ICE Challenge and securing the second spot in the ESL Pro League Season 11.

Mousesports

The ending of the tenure of Woxic with mousesports came out quietly. However, the professional says that he still remembers the good days with the team. He also says that there is no breakdown between his former teammates and they are still friends. Woxic has witnessed a lot of criticism throughout his run with mousesports. The community labeled the player with a nickname of ‘Toxic’. However, the player thinks that this label would never create an obstacle in his professional career. Woxic says that I use the negative comments as a fuel for my upcoming tournaments. I always get stronger and fight even harder.

The GM of Cloud9 says that before his retirement he wants to win a major with his team. Cloud9 is still missing two players in the squad. Some rumors say that Cloud9 would actually go for a six man squad. Right now, the three-man team looks very strong and consistent. Let’s see what Cloud9 brings us for the upcoming tournaments.

Riot Games changed the first-person shooter game trend with the release of Valorant. The organization officially released the game on 2nd June 2020. In October 2019, Riot Games initially provided a teaser of the game with the name of Project A. Eventually, the beta version of the game came out on the 7th of April 2020. The game is only available for Microsoft Windows for right now but Riot has a lot of plans for the future of the game. The game attracted an enormous amount of audience in a very short time.

New Features to the FPS Gaming

Valorant has introduced a lot of new features to first-person shooter gaming. Before Valorant, mainly two famous games like Valve’s CS: GO and Blizzard’s Overwatch ruled the industry. Both of them worked differently. Although both of the games are the first-person shooter, Overwatch is a little high paced and follows many abilities during a match. Similarly, CSGO is a little slow-paced game with players reaching a certain point to fight and win the match.

However, Valorant has brought a lot of new features and we think they are the best of them. As a whole, the gameplay of the Valorant is somehow the clone of CSGO. Players need to face their enemies and dominate to win the match. Valorant is a 5-man strategy game. Instead of only providing the fighting, Valorant also provides multiple abilities that players can use during a match to win.

Each Character with an Ability

Valorant currently has 10 characters in the game. With each big update in the game, new characters join the scene. Unlike CSGO, Valorant’s every character has some abilities with it. So you can use your character’s abilities during a match to strategize your moves and win. This has given players a new taste of FPS gaming and that is why a lot of professional players are changing their paths from CSGO to Valorant. The abilities let the players enjoy each game with different scenarios. This is how Valorant is changing the way professionals used to play FPS games.

Change in Rounds

Valorant comes with a new way of awarding a winner. The matches are played as a best-of-25. The first team to win 13 rounds wins the whole match. One of the teams starts with attacking and the other one defends. However, after 12 rounds, the roles switch. The defense and attack mechanism is the same as CSGO provides.

Game Mode

Right now, Valorant is only offering one game mode, Defuse. The name of the game mode speaks for itself. One of the team’s plants a spike and the other one tries to defuse it. Valorant has promised to bring new modes into the game very soon. With each new mode entering the game, more players will be attracted to the game.

Tournaments and Events

Valorant is joining hands with multiple organizers of the esports industry. The new Riot Games production is planning to produce mega tournaments with huge prize pools to attract the community. Due to this, the community is changing and reshaping as the competitors are jumping into the pool as well.

Valorant is currently collaborating with ESL, FACEIT, and ELEAGUE. These are the organizations that are mostly responsible for the biggest events in the industry. ESL is the company that organizes tournaments for almost every esports. The attractive thing about the organization is that it is available in almost every region of the world. Throughout the year, ESL keeps on organizing events like ESL Birmingham, ESL Los Angeles, and a lot of others too.

With the collaboration with event giants, Valorant is now going to organize several huge tournaments.

Similarly, Riot Games is not neglecting the power of the smaller organizers too. The company is collaborating with different region-based smaller organizers as well. This is providing Valorant the chance to grow on a lower scale as well. The game is gaining more popularity with these events.

In just a few months, Valorant managed to organize multiple tournaments on a bigger scale. The tournaments like BLAST Twitch Invitational, Dell Gaming Cup, WePlay Invitational, ROG Cup, ESPN Esports Invitational, Liquid ProAM Valorant Showdown, Valorant Beta Masters, and Twitch Rivals: Valorant Showdown made the game more famous than ever. Right now, almost every big tournament includes Valorant in it.

Fast-paced Gaming

With the release of Valorant, the first-person shooting witnessed a new style for gaming. Unlike CSGO, Valorant is much more fast-paced. With each character with multiple abilities, the game provides more strategy building than CSGO. The community is now much more interested in fast-paced games. With the monotonous effect, CSGO has dealt on the community, Valorant looks promising to bring new things in the gaming world.

Big Community

Valorant is growing rapidly with every passing day. The game became very famous in a very short time. Riot Games is now focusing to build up the biggest community for any esports game ever. To do so, the organization is making multiple collaborations with different esports organizers. Right now, Valorant’s community is big enough that several tournaments have already occurred in a few months. Not just this, Valorant is focusing on breaking other games players to attract towards the new FPS game. A lot of professional CSGO players left the game to join the Valorant professional scene. This not only brings the player to the game but also brings the community with it. All the fans come to witness their favorite star play the game. While they do so, most of the fans then try to play the game themselves. This is how Valorant is growing rapidly.

Rapid Team Formations

Due to the short time Valorant had, the professional teams built up very quickly. In most of the cases, some teams borrowed the professionals to play as stand-ins for them to compete in the pro scene. However, the professional teams took no time in switching to Valorant. The teams almost got built with-in a month of its release. The famous T1 series also included multiple teams that included stand-ins in them.

This pace has set an example in the community about how fast all the teams joined together to form the professional scene of the game.

High Expectations

Being a new game, Valorant releases a new character or new map in almost every new update. No other game has ever been so active with its updates and promises. This pace and consistency have set an example in the community. Fans of other esports games also expect heavily of them now. As far as Valorant updates and changes are concerned, fans are extremely satisfied. Valorant is shaping the community very firmly with the new updates and gameplay changes now and then.

Better Quality

Valorant is focusing more on providing the best quality rather than quantity. The developers of the game think that rather than providing 150 useless characters we can offer 10 characters that work fine. We should not face any kind of trouble with these characters. As the game is new, Valorant is not putting pressure on the developers to release all the upcoming characters at once. The game is setting an example of releasing everything on time. When the community gets easy with the first 10 characters, Valorant will release a few more. Just like this, the game will add several more characters to its character pool.

The developers also believe to provide better servers. The game is currently unavailable in few regions of the world but Riot Games is making sure that the existing servers should always be working. The anti-cheat software should also always be working.

These are the examples Riot Games is setting for the community to provide the best product in the market. This new game is a challenge for the existing games.

Conclusion

In conclusion, we can easily say that Valorant is reforming the esports industry very slowly and gently. The organization is providing the best product and it is setting an example in the community. Multiple contracts with the esports event organizers are also helping the game in setting the foot in the pool with big games. Valorant has grown very rapidly in a very short time. During this time, a lot of professional tournaments took place.

The new game-play for a first-person shooting game is changing the community’s demands from every game. Each character with ability has paced up the game very much. A lot of Counter Strike: Global Offensive players are saying goodbye to the game to join Valorant as they see a future in the new game. Riot Games has promised to bring a lot of new features to the game. With the release of several new modes for the game, a lot of new characters will also follow. If you are a Valorant fan, it is the best time for you to witness how the game is changing the way the esports community work or even think.
