The Singapore Major will occur with the collaboration of multiple big groups. According to the official news, ONE Esports and Singapore Tourism Board are joining with PGL to make the Major possible. ONE Esports also had the opportunity to organize Singapore Major last year. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the officials had to call the event off.
CEO of PGL
The CEO of PGL Silviu Stroie commented about the current situation in a release. He said that the organization is very much pleased to come back to Singapore with another great event after the Dota 2 Singapore Invitational 2019. He also said that PGL is honored to get an opportunity to organize the first Major of 2021 DPC of Dota 2. The tournament will occur in one of the safest places.
During the release, the CEO also mentioned some of the previous tournaments from the organization. He talked about the success of the Manila Major and The Kuala Lumpur Major. The organization is now returning with another great tournament in Southeast Asia. The CEO of PGL also said that the organization is committed to the region and holds a strong partnership with Singapore’s primary trade association for esports (SGGA). PGL is more than happy to organize multiple tournaments for Dota 2 over the years.
2021 for PGL
2021 is going to be a busy year for PGL as the organization is all committed to multiple tournaments. Last month, the organization also announced that it will host the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major following a two-year break.
Similarly, the Dota 2 Major is also coming up for the organization to host. The official format of the tournament will host the 18 best teams in the world to compete against each other. The official prize pool of the tournament is also set to $500,000.
Esports Insider also talks about the current world’s health situation and Dota 2. The official statement of the group says that the global condition is improving, and Singapore is progressing a lot. It’s exciting to witness the return of the Major events. PGL has already hosted two different Major events in the past. Therefore, there could not be a better option to organize the first Major of the season other than PGL.
Fans will be able to enjoy Offline Dota once again. The teams will also perform to their full extent once again without any PING issues.
